"Tommy Vile - A Giant of a Man" by Philip J Grant
	The book covers Tommy Vile’s life from his birth in 1882 until his death in 1958. It contains a detailed account of all his playing achievements with Newport, Barbarians, Monmouthshire, Wales and the British Isles. Tommy Vile played 299 games for Newport between 1902 and 1921 and the book contains information on every Newport game during that period. He played for Wales on eight occasions and captained them four times. The book contains team photographs and match reports of these matches. Tommy Vile toured with the British Team to Australian and New Zealand in 1904 and the book contains a full account of that tour as well as many rare photographs and other images. On retirement Tommy Vile became a referee and took charge of twelve international matches between 1923 and 1931. In addition to international matches, Tommy Vile refereed many of the touring sides including the 1924 All Blacks, The 1926-27 New Zealand Maoris and the 1927-28 Waratahs. Again the book contains a great deal of detail on these tours to Britain and Tommy Vile’s involvement in them. In 1927 he was invited to travel with the British rugby team to Argentina as the official referee. The book contains a terrific amount of detail of this tour as well as a great number of photographs never before seen in print. This book is a limited to 1000 copies, each numbered and signed by the author. This is a new book, weighing in at almost 2.5kg.
