5th February 2005 was a big day for young Simon, pictured in red above. The 11 year old Dwr-y-Felin pupil saw his first international match at the Millennium Stadium. The icing on the cake was when Gavin Henson slotted over the winning kick for the first win in Wales ’ glorious Grand Slam. The grass where Shane Williams touched down on and Henson’s kick were auctioned off by the WRU to raise money for the TLC Foundation, a charity in memory of Brent Cockbain’s young son Toby. Simon’s Dad purchased these pieces of turf which have been turned into limited edition (of 153) paperweights. A percentage of the sales are also being donated to the TLC Foundation.
