WELSH RUGBY UNION - GREAT WELSH RUGBY PLAYERS A set of 50 cards (cigarette card size) issued by the Welsh Rugby Union, each card is a caricature by Gren with biographical details by John Billot of the player on the reverse. A full range of Welsh rugby legends through the years is covered by the set, starting with Arthur Gould from the 1880s with a good selection of players from the 1900s including Gwyn Nicholls, Percy Bush and Teddy Morgan, stars of 20s & 30s include Watcyn Thomas, Claude Davey, Wilf Wooler & Cliff Jones. many of the 1950 & 1952 Grand Slam teams are caricatured, John Gwilliam, Roy John, Rees Stephens, Bleddyn Williams & Jack Matthews are among those featured. The set moves on to the 1960s and 70s through Brian Price, Clive Rowlands, Gareth Edwards, Barry John, John Dawes, Mervyn Davies, Gerald Davies, finishing off with a good selection of 1970s players, the last three cards being Graham Price, Terry Cobner and Steve Fenwick.
