Ireland started the Championship as underdogs having lost their previous seven matches, including all 4 of their Five Nations Tournament matches of 1981. Ciaran Fitzgerald, the new captain enthused and inspired the side who went on to win their first Triple Crown since 1949. Ollie Campbell kicked himself into the record books with a total of 46 points, including a record 21 out of 21 points in the Triple Crown victory against Scotland.

WILLIE JOHN McBRIDE SIGNED PRINT - A caricature of the legendary Ballymena man in his British Lions 1974 kit signed by this great player. this is one of a limited edition of 500 prints. the print size is 35cm x 25cm and is accompanied by a COA and a photo of Willie John signing the prints.

Ireland v Wales 1948 official match programme. This wonderful victory for Ireland over Wales was followed by great scenes of jubilation at Ravenhill, Belfast. Match winner Chris Daly had his jersey torn to shreds by souvenir hunters while the rest of the team were carried shoulder high from the field. This is a copy of the official programme for Ireland's only Grand Slam victory which in 2008 celebrated it's 60th anniversary. The programme has some creasing and foxing (brown age spots) throughout.

"Ireland's Golden Rugby Years"  1947-1952 by Edited by Barry S Nolan

A rundown of Ireland's golden years, including their only Grand Slam in 1948, the Triple Crown in 1949 and the Championship in 1951. Contributions and articles by many leading writers of the time, they include C Henry with "Munster's Contribution to the Golden Era", "Ulster played their part in no uncertain fashion by W Brownlow-White, "Great Games and Famous Players Recalled" by Mitchel V Cogley. In a statistical section, winners of Irish cups are listed including Junior, Senior and Provincial Town's Cups. Secondhand paperback in good condition, some minor damage to spine, 136 pages, a rare book.
