ERIC ELWOOD - No 10 IRELAND JERSEY 1994

The No 10 jersey worn by Eric Elwood in the 1994 Australia v Ireland series. The jersey has originated from the personal collection of Michael Lynagh who believes he obtained this jersey from Elwood during the series. The jersey is accompanied by a presentation copy of the programme for the 2nd test played on 11th June 1994. It is a medium size jersey by Nike in excellent condition, sold together with a Certificate of Authenticity guaranteeing its origin.

KOREA SEVENS 1998

A number 4 Korean national jersey from a sevens tournament played in New Zealand, circa 1998. The jersey is from the collection of former North Harbour player Mike Mullins and is believed to have been exchanged during a sevens tournament in New Zealand , circa 1998. The jersey size is EEL which we are assuming is the Asian equivalent of XXL. The makers label is Han's International Rugby Wear. Hans is an Indian firm who along have also been official suppliers to the Japan Rugby Union. The jersey however is almost certainly made by Canterbury of NZ with telltale rubber buttons and U shaped neck and is probably imported under licence by Hans. The sleeves have been manually trimmed and there is extra padding in the shoulders. Generally the condition of the jersey is very good.

DAVID YOUNG & MARTIN JOHNSON SHORTS 2001

Wales v England 2001 captains shorts. Two pairs of shorts worn by David Young & Martin Johnson in the Six Nations encounter at the Millennium Stadium 2001. The pair pair were originally donated to charity auction by Cardiff RFC. David Young has signed his shorts which are a size 38", made by Reebok, they have the Reebok & Redstone logos on the reverse. Jonno's shorts are by Nike with a 'BT Cellnet logo on the front and the Nike Swoosh on the reverse. The label has been removed, the shorts look to be a size 40". The shorts are accompanied by a Jeff Giggs caricature print depicting both players and the match, and the official programme.

HONOURS CAPS

Hillhead High School, Glasgow School Cap. This is an everyday school cap worn only by Hillhead High School pupils who had played for the Rugby XV.

The honours caps of SP Start (b. 17 May 1879). - Sydney Philip Start joined the Royal Navy in 1894 and played for United Services Portsmouth, Broughton Park, Devon, Surrey, Royal Navy and England (1 cap v Scotland 1907). He served during World War I and eventually rose to the rank of Rear Admiral.

Royal Navy - This is a cap from the first ever official Services match between The Army and Royal Navy at the Queen's Club in 1907. The two services had met in 1878 and in the two preceding seasons but the match at Queen's was the first ever inter-services official match. The cap is by Geo. Lewin, London and is in excellent condition.

NEW ZEALAND - RUGBY WORLD CHAMPIONS 1987 - a Steinlager training jersey believed to have belonged to David Kirk, the 1987 All Black Rugby World Cup winning captain. This Canterbury 42" / 105cm jersey has been signed to the reverse by David Kirk and 4 other members of the All Black squad (brothers Gary and Alan Whetton, Terry Wright and Bernie McCahill. The jersey has a large blood stain to the cuff, see illustration of back otherwise it is in good condition.
