In 1995 the sport of Rugby Union allowed for the first time payment to players. This saw in some instances a huge cash injection into the game. Saracens FC became a limited company and with an investment of 2.5 million pounds attracted a number of world class players including Michael Lynagh, Philippe Sella and the recent Rugby World Cup winning captain Francois Pienaar.

The items on this page belonged to the Saracen member David Osborne who was born in Newtown, Powys. They include a members notification of the Saracens FC buy out by Nigel Wray dated 24 October 1985 and newspaper clippings from that period.
