In 1995 the sport of Rugby Union allowed for the first time payment to
players. This saw in some instances a huge cash injection into the game.
Saracens FC became a limited company and with an investment of 2.5
million pounds attracted a number of world class players including
Michael Lynagh, Philippe Sella and the recent Rugby World Cup winning
captain Francois Pienaar.
