BARBARIANS v ALL BLACKS 1973 (DVD)

On a grey January afternoon in Cardiff, few expected the Baa -Baas to offer much resistance to a rampant New Zealand side. The All Blacks went into their final tour match having recorded victories over Wales, Scotland and England: the Barbarians, as is their tradition, had limited preparation, an uncapped player and an obligation to attack. However, the Barbarians' side was comprised of many of the truly great players of the era - Duckham, Gibson, JPR Williams, Bennett, Edwards, McBride and Carmichael - and together they were to produce a truly remarkable team performance, including a try from Gareth Edwards in the third minute which has proved, with the passage of time, to have been one of the best in the history of the game. Soon, the All Blacks, with outstanding players like Going, Batty and Williams, began to match their opponents' exhilarating quality. As attack and counter-attack brought a fantastic response from the Arms Park, the stage was set for the greatest rugby match ever seen. Special Features: Commentary with Phil Bennett, David Duckham and Gareth Edwards.

BRITISH & IRISH LIONS 2009 - LIVING WITH THE PRIDE (DVD)

In 1997, Living with Lions - the behind the scenes story of the British & Irish Lions Tour of South Africa - was acclaimed as one of the greatest sports films ever made. Now, 12 years on, the Lions are back in South Africa and so are our film crew, recording every minute of what was one of the greatest Lions Test Series of all time.

With unprecedented access to all areas of the Tour, Living with the Pride is the most intimate, honest and intense portrait of life as a Lion ever produced.

From the Pennyhill Park training camp to the magnificent final Test victory in Johannesburg, this is the inside story of how players who are normally the fiercest of opponents turned themselves into a band of brothers desperate to restore pride to The Jersey. Their gruelling 10-match tour of the World Champions' back yard asked questions of the players' mental and physical strength like never before.

Lions legend and Head Coach Ian McGeechan worked closely with our film crew to make an astonishing no-holds-barred documentary. With access to every player, an open door to every team meeting, training session, selection meeting as well as excusive access to the passion, fury and ultimately elation of the Lions dressing room, this is a unique and uncompromising insight into life on a Lions Tour, described by Tour Manager Gerald Davies as 'The last great adventure in rugby'.

No Lions Series has ever been closer, with many commentators describing the second Test as 'the greatest rugby match ever'. Sometimes hilarious, but often brutal, bruising and moving, Living With The Pride is the official and exclusive behind the scenes story of one of the most exhilarating, emotional and memorable sports tours of all time.

BRITISH & IRISH LIONS 2009 - MATCH HIGHLIGHTS - WITH PRIDE (DVD)

It will be remembered as one of the great test series in rugby history as the British and Irish Lions came within millimetres of defeating World Champions South Africa on their own turf.

In the land of the big game hunter, this was one that got away just! Three pulsating Test matches of ferocious intensity, compelling and controversial at almost every turn.

Ian McGeechan's heroic squad were decimated by injuries throughout the tour but still claimed a magnificent final Test win in the Springboks' Ellis Park fortress.

The first Test in Durban was lost 26-21 despite a stirring late comeback. The Lions had to win in Pretoria and did everything in their power in a brutal but breathtaking collision. Rob Kearney's early try and Stephen Jones' faultless kicking carried the tourists to the cusp of a magnificent triumph - only for Lion hearts to be broken in the final seconds by the long range boot of the nerveless Morne Steyn.

Paul O'Connell's side regrouped and responded emphatically in Johannesburg, thrashing the Boks 26-9, scoring three tries to none. The series was lost but the performance said everything about this pride of Lions. With action from every game of the tour, extended highlights of the first two Tests plus a bonus disc of the extraordinary final Test match in full - this is the Lions in South Africa 2009

ENGLAND'S STORY (RWC 2007)

They defied all logic and form. They beat the two time Champions ! They beat the hosts! They shocked the world! And maybe, just maybe, they could have made history and retained the William Webb Ellis Cup.

England at the 2007 Rugby World Cup - it ' s one of the greatest sporting stories of all time! Has there ever been a comeback of such magnitude? Derided and dismissed - a nation in desolation after a 36 point whitewash against South Africa in the Pool stages. Brian Ashton 's boys were down but most definitely not out.

Inspired once more by Jonny Wilkinson and powered by the fury of a thunderous pack the Red Rose rallied. They were too strong for Samoa and Tonga but a familiar foe was waiting for a quarter final in Marseilles - Australia ! With mighty Andrew Sheridan rampant, the Aussies were destroyed and distraught. Then it was French tears in Paris . The hosts left singing Les Bleus as England ' s ace marksman Jonny cut them down. Nobody thought it possible. Against all the odds England was in the World Cup Final.

This DVD also contains a second disc with the entire Semi-Final between hosts France and England . Plus exclusive interviews and behind the scenes look at England ' s World Cup journey.

CLASSIC RUGBY - The Official History of English Rugby

A double DVD box set !

Introduced by Lawrence Dallaglio and narrated by Mark Durden-Smith, the Official History of English Rugby DVD traces the origins of the game from its inception at Rugby School through to Autumn International success against Australia in 2005 and defeat of Grand Slam champions, Wales, in the 2006 Six Nations.

On the Home Nations front, the programme features all the great English teams from the early era of Poulton Palmer and Wavell Wakefield, which won three Grand Slams in the 1920's, and Eric Evans' 1957 Grand Slam winning team - the first since 1928. The 1970s and 1980s were dire periods for English rugby with the mighty exception of Bill Beaumont's 1980 Grand Slam side. However, England's place at the top of the Five Nations tree returned in the 1990s with Will Carling's epic treble Grand Slams of 1991, 1992 and 1995.

It was the arrival of Clive Woodward in 1998 that really set England on the road to world domination, although the Grand Slam seemed an elusive prize as England fell at the final hurdle four years in a row, from 1999 to 2002. However, England went into the 2003 Six Nations on the back of sensational performances against New Zealand, Australia and South Africa in the Autumn Internationals, and wrapped up the Grand Slam after tearing the Irish apart 42-6 in a scintillating display of rugby at Lansdowne Road. England then took this form to the World Cup, having beaten Australia and New Zealand again in the Summer of 2003, and the rest is history...Lawrence Dallaglio reviews England's incredible success and highlights of all the key games, and also looks back at the previous World Cup campaigns.

Post World Cup brought the retirement of the likes of Back, Johnson and Sir Clive himself, plus long-term injury to talisman Jonny Wilkinson, and England struggled to find their form. However, recent Autumn International displays against New Zealand and Australia have inspired more confidence in the team and they go into the 2007 season with renewed hopes of defending their World Cup crown.

ENGLAND'S SIX OF THE BEST - The New Millenium (DVD)

Introduced by Lawrence Dallaglio

Lawrence Dallaglio selects England's best Six games from the New Millenium - and what a selection!

Exclusive extended interview with Lawrence Dallaglio
Immediate access to all the featured games
Facts and figures on all six games plus bonus match.

16th February 2002 - England 45-11 Ireland
A rampant England surged to the top of the Zurich World Rankins after racking up six tries in 45-11 Lloyds TSB Six Nations Championship win. A day when England went as close to perfection in the first half as Twickenham has ever seen.

24th November 2001 - England 29-9 South Africa
A clinical display of counter-attacking rugby and solid defence saw England record their third consecutive victory over South Africa at Twickenham, beating the Boks by a record margin of 29-9. In doing so Clive Woodward's men became the first European nation to gain five successive test victories over southern hemisphere opposition

10th November 2001 - England 21-15 Australia
Retaining the Cook Cup they won last year, England's hero was Jonny Wilkinson, as his five penalties and two drop-goals saw them triumphant in a game where their superb 15-0 first half performance was blighted by a jittery second period as a 'Jekyll and Hyde' Australia were denied by some stern defence, and superb goal-kicking.

7th April 2001 - England 48-19 France
Six converted tries and a monumental kicking milestone for Jonny Wilkinson were witnessed by a packed Twickenham stadium, as England came back from three points down at the break to demolish France 48-19 in a pulsating Lloyds TSB Six Nations Championship encounter.

2nd December 2000 - England 25-17 South Africa
This was the game when England proved that they had come of age. Having led 19-9 at the break, England held off a concerted South African effort early in the second half to win 25-17 and prove that the win in Bloemfontein in June was no fluke. As a bonus we include Jonny Wilkinson's breathtaking kicking display as he scored every point in that epic 27-22 victory at the Free State Stadium to square the two-test series 1-1

18th November 2000 - England 22-19 Australia
Drama doesn't come much better than this! Dan Luger's last minute try hangs in the balance until video referee Brian Stirling rubber-stamps it. Then over to Jonny Wilkinson's brilliant touchline conversion and the celebrations could begin in earnest.

ENGLAND'S SIX OF THE BEST - THE 90's (DVD)

Rob Andrew looks back at England's best six games from the 90s - a magnificent tribute to England's golden era.

5th December 1998 - England 13-7 South Africa -
This was a famous England victory. Not just because it brought to an end an extraordinary run of wins for a superb South Africa side but also because it gave Clive Woodward and his young charges their first taste of southern hemisphere blood. A hard fought match but a Jeremy Guscott converted try and two Matt Dawson penalties set up a famous victory

6th Decemer 1997 - England 26-26 New Zeland -
After the humiliation of Lomu and the 1995 Rugby World Cup semi-final no one gave England a chance as they took on nearly the same side at Twickenham. However, an epic end game and a trio of England tries from Dallaglio, Hill and Rees very nearly saw England defeat the All Blacks. A sensational game of rugby

11th June 1995 - Australia 22-25 England -
One of the most famous matches in England's rugby history and a match no one will forget. It was a massive stage, the quarter final of the Rugby World Cup from Cape Town and at 22-22 with seconds to go, Rob Andrew was set up for a long-range drop goal attempt...

4th June 1994 - South Africa 15-32 England -
After crashing to four defeats in the initial five matches of their 1994 tour of South Africa, the odds of England pulling off a victory in the first Test looked unlikely in the extreme. In Pretoria on June 4, however, England produced arguably the finest passage of rugby in their 124 year history to blow the Springboks apart. Set up by tries from Ben Clarke and Rob Andrew, the tourists were 20-0 up within 16 minutes and South Africa were destroyed. England's fly-half Rob Andrew went into the record books that day with his personal haul of 27 points, at the times the highest individual return in England's Test history.

7th March 1992 - England 24-0 Wales -
A spectacular achievement from Will Carling and his men as England secured back to back Grand Slams for the first time in their history. Tries from Carling, Skinner and Dooley destroyed the Welsh in spectacular fashion. England went on to record their 3rd Grand Slam success this decade in 1995 by defeating Scotland 24-12 and as a bonus we include all Rob Andrew's points. (7 penalties and a drop-goal) from this historic game.

16th March 1991 - England 21-19 France
Twickenham had never seen celebrations like it as England held on to secure their first Grand Slam since 1980 in the tightest of games. Rory Underwood scored England's sole try but the match will also be remembered for Philippe Saint Andre's incredible try set up from under his own posts by Serge Blanco.

IRELAND CHAMPIONS 2014 - RBS SIX NATIONS

Ireland, the RBS 6 Nations Champions for only the second time in 29 long years ... but it was well worth the wait. This is the Official Film featuring the action, drama and excitement from the most closely contested RBS 6 Nations for years, with Ireland winning an enthralling tournament in Paris to take the crown and give Brian O’Driscoll the perfect send-off to end his glittering career. After three dominant victories at the Aviva Stadium against Scotland, Wales and Italy, racking up 100 points in the process then a narrow defeat to England at Twickenham, the Irish needed to win in Paris for the long awaited glory. But with only one win in the Stade de France in the previous 42 years it was going to be a huge challenge. A win, any win for Ireland in the final match would be sufficient to lift the trophy. But the French, who had been misfiring throughout the RBS 6 Nations, had a new energy and purpose on home turf. With their best performance of the Championship, the French went toe-to-toe with the Irish and Les Blues went in at half-time leading 13-12. The second half saw the game really open up and a second try and penalty from Sexton gave the Irish a 22-13 lead, only to see a French try 20 minutes from time. In a nail-biting dramatic finale the Irish defence heroically held strong and firm to close out the game and ensure the boys in green completed an historic victory. A breath taking Championship and a fitting tribute to Ireland’s most celebrated player, Brian O’Driscoll. Discs:

IRELAND RBS SIX NATIONS CHAMPIONS 2015

The RBS 6 Nations Championship 2015 was not poised to go down as one of the more "vintage" Championships, though there was great anticipation as the action headed into its final day. What transpired was something that nobody could foresee: "The Greatest Day in Rugby's Greatest Championship."

Only point's difference separated Ireland, England and Wales on the morning of Saturday 21st March, with staggered kick-offs adding to the drama, as fans could watch each team set a target for the next. Wales set the tone with an incredible second-half performance in Rome, winning by 41 points (Italy 20 Wales 61) and setting a marker for Ireland and England. Next, Ireland played with an ambitious attacking style not seen previously during the campaign, and racked up their biggest away win in Championship history (Scotland 10 Ireland 40) a 30 point margin thereby setting England the target of a 27-point margin. All eyes turned to Twickenham for a nail-biting finale. England had no choice but all-out attack and they delivered, building up an emphatic tally of 55 points to the French haul of 35. In a bizarre and exhilarating end game, the French ultimately left a desperate England just shy of their target. 'Super Saturday' lived up to its billing with a record 221 points and 27 tries scored. Joe Schmidt's men now march on as back-to-back RBS 6 Nations Champions and with a spring in their step...

SOUTH AFRICA

THE STORY OF RUGBY WORLD CUP 1995 - SOUTH AFRICA

It s become one of the most famous and poignant sporting images of all time President Nelson Mandela, the symbol of post apartheid South Africa, dressed in a Springbok jersey handing rugby's World Cup to his nation's captain, Francois Pienaar.

Pienaar s side had always found a way - on and off the field... they had united a nation in support and stampeded all over rugby logic.

Never more so than in a thunderous final when they defeated the mighty All Blacks a New Zealand side boasting the previously unstoppable rugby juggernaut, Jonah Lomu.

They did it thanks to a frightening level of defensive commitment and because they possessed the coolest man on the pitch, Joel Stransky. He it was who kicked the decisive drop goal deep into extra time.

History was made; a new era the era of the Rainbow Nation had dawned.

The 16th Man is produced and narrated by US actor Morgan Freeman who played Mandela in the feature film Invictus.

A TRIBUTE TO THE GREAT CLIFF MORGAN (DVD)

Cliff Morgan represented the best in rugby; leadership, strength and speed, grace and control, and a will o' the wisp magic to spot and create the opening. These skills were sometimes compromised by an individuality of movement, the clenched features and pumping arms which signified determination rather than fluency, competitiveness rather than style.

Cliff in his day was undoubtedly the best fly half in the world. He can therefore be compared with the great fly halves of all generations and not lose out in comparison. In 1997 the New Zealand Rugby fraternity instituted a Rugby Hall Of Fame and Cliff Morgan was the selection at fly-half. In later life Cliff extended his rugby talent into broadcasting. He became one of the most respected broadcasters, rising into the highest levels with both the BBC and ITV. His media career ended in 1998 with the demise of one of radio's best loved programmes, Sport on Four, every Saturday morning - a programme that Cliff made his very own.

This DVD records a special night in his life when more than 1,200 guests gathered at the London Hilton to pay tribute to the living legend, and includes heartfelt speeches from former Lions Tony O'Reilly, Willie John McBride and Barry John, as well as action footage from Cliff's outstanding career with Cardiff RFC, Bective Rangers, Barbarians, Wales (29 caps) and the British & Irish Lions 1955 tour to South Africa (4 Tests).

WALES - INDIVIDUAL MATCHES & YEARS

GATLAND'S GUNS (DVD)

England 19 - Wales 26 - 2nd February 2008

When Ryan Jones led his team out to face England for the opening game of the 2008 RBS 6 Nations Championship, there were old scores to settle but not even the hardiest of Welsh Rugby fans truly suspected that this would be the year. Not since Adrian Hadley's two tries knocked the stuffing out of England in 1988 had Wales beaten the old enemy at fortress Twickenham and only six months earlier they were hammered 62-5. This made their heroic comeback performance against England all the more remarkable.

England had bullied Wales throughout the first half and looked in total control at 19-6 early in the second before 12 of the most inspired minutes in Welsh rugby history. Wales scored two tries in two chaotic minutes, first through Lee Byrne and then scrumhalf Mike Phillips who charged down Iain Balshaw's clearance to send the whole of Wales into meltdown! with brilliant kicking from Man of the Match James Hook, the resultant 26-19 lead was impossible for a panic-stricken England to peg-back. Includes pre Match build up & post Match Interviews

RUGBY HISTORY

HISTORY OF RUGBY - Presented by Rob Andrew

Rugby had one of the most romantic births of any sport. Not content with starting life as a full blown, planned event it took a young man called William Webb Ellis to decide in 1823 that instead of kicking the football he would pick it up and run with it. From that day at Rugby School a new sport took its place in our heritage. A sport that would be enjoyed by more than 100 nations across the globe. Since 1823 Rugby Union has enjoyed revolution after revolution, from its break from Rugby League to its move to professionalism and the advent of the Six Nations Championship. The game has produced some of sport's most famous players from Gareth Edwards and Barry John to Bill Beaumont, Will Carling and Jonny Wilkinson. It has also produced two of the most famous international teams, The British and Irish Lions, particularly the teams of 1971 and 1974, and the world renowned Barbarians who ran from their own try line in 1973 to score the most famous try the game has ever seen. This DVD takes you through the entire history of rugby from its birth right through to the resurgent England team of the New Millennium who beat Australia, New Zealand and South Africa before winning the 2003 Grand Slam. Interspersed with interviews with the biggest names in the game and all the best tries, this programme tells the complete story that is the great game of rugby. Extras: Interactive Menus, Exclusive Interview with Rob Andrew

THE STORY OF RUGBY (DVD)

A Rugby History - Scripted by Paul Morgan of Rugby World

Rugby had one of the most romantic births of any sport. Not content with starting life as a full blown, planned event it took a young man called William Webb Ellis to decide in 1823 that instead of kicking a ball he would pick it up and run with it.
From that day at Rugby School a new sport took its place in our heritage. A sport that would ne enjoyed by more than 100 nations across the globe.
Through the 20th century rugby union enjoyed revolution after revolution, starting with the break from rugby league to its recent move from being an amateur to professional sport and the beginning of the World Cup.
The game has produced some of the sport's most famous names - from Gareth Edwards and Barry John to Jonah Lomu and Jonny Wilkinson - as well as its greatest teams, such as the Lions of 1971 and 1974 and those unforgettable Barbarians who ran from their own line in 1973 to score what is acknowledged as the greatest ever try.
This DVD takes you through the history of rugby from its birth right through to the resurgent English team of the New Millennium and their five consecutive victories over Southern Hemisphere opposition.
Interspersed with interviews from the biggest names in the game and all the best tries, this programme tells the complete story that is the great game of Rugby.

GREATEST MOMENTS OF THE FIVE AND SIX NATIONS

The game of Rugby Union is in the public eye today more than at any time in its history. This incredible programme tracks the origins of the Northern Hemisphere's biggest domestic tournament, the Six Nations, from its humble beginnings at the end of the 19th Century, then the Four Nations, through to England's Grand Slam win of 2003, by then the Six Nations Championship after France's entry into the fray in 1910 and Italy's in 2000. The programme takes in archive footage and stills from the early years of the competition with stars such as Poulton Palmer before the Great War and Wavell Wakefield in the 1920's before moving to Ireland's sole Grand Slam success in 1948 and Eric Evans’ famous England Grand Slam side of 1957. The Welsh Dragons under Gareth Edwards ruled the 70's before Bill Beaumont's 1980 side bucked the trend with England's first Grand Slam since that of 1957. France dominated the 80s winning the Grand Slam in 1981 and 1987, although Scotland weighed in with a Slam of their own in 1984. Scotland also took the Grand Slam in 1990 with that epic victory over England at Murrayfield before England and Will Carling turned the early 90's into a procession with Slams in 1991, after an epic 21- 19 victory against France, 1992 and 1995. It was England's failings that dominated the latter part of the 90's and start of the New Millennium, losing consecutive Grand Slam deciders against Wales (at Wembley in 1999, handing the Five Nations to Scotland) Scotland, Ireland and France. However they put this right in 2003 as Martin Johnson's England destroyed Ireland at Lansdowne Road to clinch their first Grand Slam since 1995. Highlights of all the great moments are included, all ably presented and voiced by Steve Rider. It is a programme to be watched again and again by rugby fans the length and breadth of the land.
